Sarah, an American immigrant with five children including a newborn, who had escaped an abusive marriage, sought help from The Eckstein Project when the baby was born. By herself in a new country and living with the bare minimum, she could not afford the basic supplies for her newborn infant. The social worker at the hospital alerted us and we immediately gathered some diapers and clothing, and within days arranged for a full supply of diapers, wipes, bottles, pacifiers, newborn clothes and all she needed for her return home. Sarah was moved to tears because caring people took care of all her needs in such a meaningful manner.
